Case IH 15308 - AST – AST (Advanced Steering) / Steering Valve Controller (SVC): Incorrect steering valve controller configuration - steering wheel configuration checksum

The Steering Valve Controller has detected a checksum error or mismatch in the configuration data specifically related to the steering wheel setup. This is typically a software, memory (EEPROM), or calibration data fault rather than a mechanical failure.

   Verify configuration data for corruption or mismatch

   Check for accompanying codes (e.g., 15216 - EEPROM write failed, or 15311 - Auto-calibration configuration error) which might indicate a failing controller memory

   Verify the current software and dataset versions on the Steering Valve Controller using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH EST (Electronic Service Tool) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to module

   Navigate to the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) module.

   Update dataset

   Reload or update the Advanced Steering Configuration controller dataset.

   Perform auto-calibration

   Perform the steering wheel auto-calibration procedure to rewrite the correct values to the controller's memory.

   Replace hardware if necessary

   If the controller will not accept the configuration or the checksum error immediately returns (indicating a hard EEPROM failure), the Steering Valve Controller hardware must be replaced and reprogrammed.
