Case IH 15312 - AST – AST: Steering valve controller failure - NO checksum

The steering valve controller (SVC) failed to verify its internal configuration data checksum during boot-up or during the auto-calibration process, indicating corrupted software, an incomplete calibration, or a failed module.

   Access On-Board Diagnostics by navigating the 'H' menus using the switches on the Analogue / Digital Instrument Cluster (ADIC)

   Navigate to the AST Module (R1 module, menu H3), select the AST system, and check the lower LCD section for the channel status ('ch - -')

   Using the Electronic Service Tool (EST), verify the software versions on the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) and the Steering Redundant Controller (SRC) to ensure they match the required dataset for the tractor configuration

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or a compatible diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Check for accompanying errors

   Check the AST steering system for any accompanying configuration errors (such as 15313, 15314, or 15315).

   Calibrate steering system

   Perform a technical release to calibrate the steering system. Initiate the auto-calibration procedure for the steering valve.

   Re-flash controller

   If the calibration fails due to the checksum error, re-flash the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) with the correct Advanced Steering Configuration controller dataset.

   Run auto-calibration

   Run the auto-calibration procedure again.

   Replace controller

   If the software update and calibration do not clear the 15312 fault code, the internal memory of the Steering Valve Controller is likely corrupted or physically damaged, and the hardware module must be replaced.
