Case IH 15332 - AST – AST (Advanced Steering) System / PVED-CLS Controller: EEPROM PLM metadata: approval CRC failure

This fault indicates a memory corruption issue within the steering valve controller. The Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) metadata stored in the controller's internal EEPROM has failed.

   Verify the tractor's battery health, alternator output, and ensure the battery terminals are clean and tight to rule out voltage drops or spikes.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors going to the PVED-CLS steering valve for corrosion, moisture intrusion, or damaged pins.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the PVED-CLS controller is still communicating on the CAN bus or if it has entered a Safe State.

   Attempt Software Flash

   Using the Case IH EST, attempt to re-flash or update the firmware on the PVED-CLS steering valve controller. Sometimes a software re-flash can overwrite the corrupted EEPROM sectors.

   Replace the Controller

   If the EST cannot communicate with the module, the flash fails, or the 15332 fault code immediately returns, the PVED-CLS module has suffered a hard internal memory failure and must be replaced.

   Installation

   Remove the defective PVED-CLS electronic control head from the OSPE steering valve body and install the new module. (On some machine configurations, the entire steering valve assembly may need to be replaced).

   Calibration

   After replacing the PVED-CLS controller, you must perform the Auto Steering Calibration Mode using the EST or the tractor's AFS Pro display. This includes calibrating the Wheel Angle Sensor (WAS) and teaching the new steering valve spool dead-bands.
