Case IH 15335 - AST – AST: EEPROM configuration sectors: inconsistent data in configuration sectors

This fault code indicates a memory error within the steering system. Specifically, the configuration data stored in the non-volatile memory (EEPROM) of the steering valve controller is corrupted, mismatched, or inconsistent.

   Check module communication using the tractor's instrument cluster diagnostic interface (H menus) or the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the PVED-CLS module is detected online.

   Check for accompanying codes related to EEPROM or configuration faults (such as 15336, 15331, 15990, or 15991) that might point to a broader software mismatch.

   Inspect the wiring harness, CAN bus connections, and power supply to the steering valve. Voltage drops or spikes during operation can cause memory write errors or corrupt EEPROM data.

   Software Re-flash / Reconfiguration

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). Attempt to re-flash the steering valve controller with the correct firmware and push the vehicle configuration data back to the module.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key. If the 15335 code does not return, the EEPROM data was successfully overwritten and corrected.

   Module Replacement

   If the EST cannot write to the module, or if the 15335 code returns immediately upon reboot, the EEPROM chip has suffered a hard hardware failure. The PVED-CLS module (or the entire steering valve assembly, depending on dealer serviceability limits) must be replaced.

   Post-Repair Calibration

   After replacing the module, you must perform a full steering system calibration. This includes calibrating the Wheel Angle Sensor (WAS) and the steering valve deadbands using the EST or the tractor's onboard calibration menus.
