Issue description
The engine controller has detected a supply voltage that exceeds the maximum safe threshold, triggering an internal self-protection fault ('ABE active' triggered due to overvoltage detection).

Check the cause
Test System Voltage: Check the alternator output with a multimeter while the engine is running to ensure the voltage regulator has not failed and is not overcharging the system.
Inspect Wiring: Check the main power supply and ground circuits to the Engine Controller for shorts to power.
Check Relays: Inspect the Engine Controller Main Relay (Terminal 30) for defects, as early opening or sticking relays can cause voltage spikes.
Repair steps
Resolve overvoltage issues
Resolve any external charging system or wiring harness overvoltage issues.
Replace ECU
Replace the Engine Controller (ECU). The internal failure is generally not field-repairable and requires module replacement or professional remanufacturing.
Connect EST
Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
Restore Parameters
Follow the appropriate service tool procedure to flash the new ECU, restore self-learning parameters, and sync the module with the machine's CAN-bus system.
