Case IH 17700 (F-518260-19) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU) A-095: CAN message corruption between vehicle controller and ECU controller - CCVS message

The ECU A-095 senses a CCVS message timeout or message corruption on the CAN Node A Bus. This is typically caused by a related CAN fault, missing or faulty supply voltage or ground, faulty CAN circuit wiring, or a faulty ECU A-095, failed internal CAN termination resistor, or corrupted software.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify the fault is present and in an active state.

   Check the system for any other active CAN faults or voltage/ground issues, as these can cascade and cause a CCVS timeout.

   Visually inspect the relevant harnesses and connectors for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires.

   Verify that all connectors are fully seated and installed.

   Flex the involved wiring harnesses to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts in the wiring.

   Operate the machine while monitoring the display to see if the fault state changes.

   Wiring Repair

   If damage is found during the visual inspection or the display indicates abnormal readings while flexing the harness, repair the damaged wiring or connectors. Verify that the error has been resolved.

   Clear and Retest

   If no physical damage is found and the display indicates normal readings, erase the fault code using the EST and continue operation to see if the code returns.

   Software Flash

   If the fault persists and wiring is confirmed good, verify that the appropriate software version for the ECU A-095 is present. Reinstall or flash the ECU software if necessary.

   Module Replacement

   If the wiring, voltage, grounds, and software have all been verified and the fault remains active, the ECU A-095 (or its internal termination resistor) has failed. Replace the ECU A-095.
