Case IH 17701 (F-518260-14) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): CAN message corruption between vehicle controller and ECU controller - CCVS message

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has sensed a CCVS (Cruise Control/Vehicle Speed) message timeout or data corruption over the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus.

   Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify that the fault is currently present and in an active state.

   Verify the CAN configuration in the Vehicle Controller.

   Check the presence and correct connection of the Vehicle Controller to the network. Verify the correct functioning of the VC CAN controller and ensure it has proper voltage supply and ground.

   Visually inspect the relevant harnesses and connectors for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires. Ensure all connectors are fully seated.

   Flex and manipulate the involved wiring harnesses (wiggle test) to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts in the CAN circuit while monitoring the display.

   Resolve Wiring Issues

   If you find damage during the visual inspection or the wiggle test causes the display to indicate abnormal readings, repair the damaged wiring harness or connector.

   Clear and Retest

   If no physical damage is found and the display indicates normal readings, erase the fault code using the EST and operate the machine to see if the code returns.

   Software Verification

   If the fault persists, check if the ECU A-095 has the appropriate software installed. Flash or reinstall the ECU software if necessary.

   Module Replacement

   If the wiring, voltage, ground, and software are all verified to be in good working order, the failure is internal. Replace the faulty Vehicle Controller or ECU A-095.
