The engine control system has detected that the high-pressure common rail is not reaching or maintaining the minimum fuel pressure required for the engine to start or continue running.

   Verify the fuel supply has fresh, filtered fuel and that the low-pressure side is adequately primed without microscopic contamination.

   Check the fuel rail pressure sensor to verify it is accurately reading pressure and that its 3-pin wiring connector is intact.

   Inspect the pressure relief valve (PRV) for leaks or failure, as a faulty valve can bleed off rail pressure.

   Maintain Extreme Cleanliness

   Installation of common rail components requires extreme cleanliness, as microscopic contamination can destroy the system.

   Flush the System

   If contamination is suspected, flush the entire fuel system to prevent repeat failures.

   Replace Filters

   Always replace fuel filters during a pressure relief valve or sensor replacement.

   Replace the Faulty Component

   Replace the fuel rail pressure sensor or the pressure relief valve depending on which component failed the diagnostic checks.

   Prime the System

   Use fresh, filtered fuel when priming the system after reassembly.
