Case IH 17775 (F-7107-15) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Pump motor of the DEF/AdBlue supply module - Pump speed above the maximum limit
Issue description
The control module has detected that the internal pump motor inside the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) supply module is spinning faster than its calibrated maximum threshold. This condition is almost always caused by a lack of fluid resistance (loss of prime), which happens when the pump is sucking air due to an empty tank, a leak in the suction line, a severely clogged DEF filter, or an internal failure of the pump motor itself.

Check the cause
Fluid Level & Quality: Verify the DEF tank is not empty. An empty tank will cause the pump to suck air and overspeed.
Visual Line Inspection: Inspect the DEF suction lines from the tank to the supply module for leaks, kinks, or blockages. Air intrusion in the suction line is a primary cause of pump overspeeding.
Electrical Testing: Disconnect the vehicle harness from the DEF supply module (e.g., connector X-030) and use a multimeter to check for shorts to ground, open circuits, or voltage irregularities.
Filter Inspection: Check the DEF pump's internal primary filter element. Crystallized urea or debris can starve the pump of fluid.
System Test: Use a diagnostic tool (such as the Case IH EST or Bosch KTS Truck) to run a Denoxtronic dosing and supply quantity test to assess hydraulic system leakproofness and command the pump actuation.
Repair steps
Preparation
Thoroughly clean the area around the DEF supply module. Ensure the surrounding area is completely free of dried white urea crust and dust to safeguard the internal high-pressure fluid loops.
Filter Replacement (If applicable)
Open the filter cap on the supply module. Use the specialized extraction tool (usually included with the OEM filter kit) to carefully extract the old filter element. Caution: Do not pry it out with standard tools, as this can scratch the inner walls of the pump housing reservoir. Flush the external housing face with clean distilled water only (do not use tap water or chemicals). Install the new filter element and secure the cap.
Module Replacement (If the pump is defective)
Disconnect the electrical harness and the DEF fluid lines from the supply module. Unbolt the defective DEF supply module from its mounting bracket and remove it. Mount the new replacement DEF supply module and torque the bolts to OEM spec. Reconnect the fluid lines and the electrical harness.
Calibration
A new DEF supply module must be programmed/calibrated to the ECU using the dealer diagnostic tool.
Verification
Clear the fault codes and run a system prime and dosing test via the diagnostic tool to verify proper operation and ensure there are no leaks.
