Case IH 17853 (F-653-05) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU) A-095: Open load error of injector in cylinder 3

This indicates a hardware error where the Engine Control Unit (ECU) diagnostic procedure has used pattern detection and identified an open circuit during the evaluation of the cylinder 3 fuel injector.

   Check the service display to see if any other error codes are present.

   Verify that the tractor/machine battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (such as a jump starter or external generator). If an external power supply is connected, disconnect it immediately and test the system for normal operation.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between ECU A-095 and the cylinder 3 injector for physical damage, chafing, or disconnected plugs that would cause an open circuit.

   Disconnect external power and cycle power

   Disconnect any external power supplies and cycle the machine's power to see if the code clears.

   Access injector wiring

   Gain access to the engine valve cover and the cylinder 3 injector wiring.

   Visually inspect harness and connector

   Visually inspect the injector harness and the specific connector for cylinder 3. Look for backed-out pins, corrosion, or broken wires.

   Test injector solenoid resistance

   Using a multimeter, test the resistance of the cylinder 3 injector solenoid to determine if the internal coil has failed open.

   Check wiring continuity

   Check the continuity of the wiring harness from the injector plug back to the ECU A-095 pins.

   Repair wiring or replace injector

   If the wiring is damaged, repair or replace the harness. If the wiring is intact but the injector fails the resistance test, replace the cylinder 3 fuel injector.
