17916 (F-519695-07) - ECU

Case IH 17916 (F-519695-07) - ECU – ECU: Differential pressure sensing hose line upstream from the catalyst filter is detached or completely blocked

Issue description

The sensor cannot accurately read the exhaust gas pressure before the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) because the physical hose connecting the exhaust stream to the sensor is either disconnected or clogged with soot/debris.

Applies to these machines

  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Farmall 40
  • Farmall 45
  • Farmall 50
  • Farmall 80N-115U
  • Farmall 85C
  • Farmall 95C
  • Farmall 105C
  • Farmall 115C
  • Maxxum series

Check the cause

  1. Locate the differential pressure sensor and trace the hose line that runs upstream to the catalyst filter (DPF/DOC).

  2. Verify that the hose is securely connected at both the exhaust pipe fitting and the sensor fitting.

  3. Disconnect the hose and inspect it for internal blockages such as heavy soot accumulation, carbon buildup, or physical crimping and damage.

Repair steps

  1. Reattach hose

If the hose is simply detached, securely reattach the hose line to the upstream catalyst filter port and the differential pressure sensor.

  2. Clear blockage

If the hose is completely blocked, attempt to clear the blockage using compressed air (ensure it is completely removed from the sensor first to avoid damaging the sensitive internal diaphragm).

  3. Replace hose

If the hose is damaged, melted, or cannot be cleared, replace the differential pressure sensing hose line.

  4. Clear codes and verify

Clear the fault codes from the ECU and run the machine to verify the differential pressure sensor is reading correctly.

Parts you might need
