Case IH 18 – EDC (Electronic Draft Control) Microprocessor or XCM (Central Controller): Both Load Sensing Pins Disconnected

The system has detected an open circuit, a faulty connection, or a complete lack of signal from both of the draft load sensing pins.

   Inspect both load sensing pin connectors (C047 and C048) to ensure they are securely plugged in, not damaged, and that the internal pins are in the correct position and free of corrosion.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the load sensing pins and the central controller for continuity, open circuits, or shorts.

   Verify that the XCM/EDC controller itself has not failed.

   Disconnect harness

   Option A (If draft control is required): Disconnect the wiring harness from the defective load sensing pins on the lower link arms.

   Remove pins

   Remove the defective pins from the hitch assembly.

   Install new pins

   Install the new OEM load sensing pins and secure them.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the wiring harness.

   Clear error code

   Clear the error code from the diagnostic menu.

   Perform calibration

   Perform a hydraulic lift auto-calibration to ensure the system reads the new pins correctly.

   Unplug harness

   Option B (If draft control is NOT needed): Unplug the wiring harness from both defective draft load sensing pins.

   Install elimination modules

   Plug the two Electronic Load Sensing Elimination Modules directly into the tractor's harness in place of the pins.

   Secure modules

   Secure the modules and wiring out of the way using tie wraps.

    Clear error code

    Clear the error code. The diagnostic system will no longer look for the pins, and the tractor can be operated immediately.
