Case IH 18067 – Armrest Control Module: EHR (remote valve) 2 lever implausibility error
Issue description
The control module is receiving an invalid, out-of-range, or conflicting electrical signal from the potentiometer/encoder associated with the #2 Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) control lever located on the armrest.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- Magnum
- Steiger T4B
- Case IH Magnum Series: 180-290, 235-340 (Series 4)
- Case IH Steiger Series: 350-600 horsepower models
- Case IH Puma Series: 165, 180, 195, 210, 225 CVX
Check the cause
Check for related active EHR error codes (such as 18042 or 18043, which indicate specific high/low voltage issues on lever 2).
Make a note of the error code, clear it from the system, and test the remote valve for normal operation to see if it was a transient glitch.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EHR lever 2 and the Armrest ECU. Ensure the connectors are fully seated, not damaged, and that the pins are tight and in the correct position.
Repair steps
Attempt Calibration
If the code returns after clearing, perform the EHR lever calibration procedure via the tractor's display monitor. Test the system for normal operation after calibration.
Test the Circuit
If calibration fails, leave the connectors disconnected and test for continuity and proper reference voltage (usually 2.5V or 5V depending on the specific armrest board) between the lever potentiometer and the Armrest module.
Repair Wiring
If an open or short circuit is found in the harness, repair or replace the affected wiring.
Replace the Component
If the wiring is intact and the calibration fails, the EHR lever potentiometer itself has failed. You will need to open the armrest console and replace the EHR #2 remote valve lever assembly.
