Case IH 18147 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): Dosing Valve (electrical) | open load | P2047 Reductant Injector - circuit open

The system has detected an "open load" or open circuit in the electrical connection to the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Dosing Valve (Reductant Injector). The electrical path is broken, which could be caused by an unplugged connector, a severed wire in the harness, or an internal failure (open coil) within the injector itself.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Dosing Control Unit (DCU) and the DEF Dosing Valve at the exhaust pipe for unplugged connectors, chafed wires, or corrosion.

   Use a multimeter to check for continuity along the wiring harness to ensure there are no broken wires causing the open load.

   Measure the resistance of the DEF Dosing Valve's internal coil to check for an internal open circuit (infinite resistance).

   Secure Connections

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a loose or unplugged connector at the DEF injector, securely reconnect it and clear the code.

   Repair Wiring

   If a broken wire or corroded pin is found in the harness between the DCU and the injector, repair the wiring or replace the damaged connector pigtail.

   Replace the Injector

   If the wiring is intact but the DEF Dosing Valve has an internal open circuit, remove the faulty injector from the exhaust stream and install a new DEF Doser Injector.

   Clear Codes

   After the repair is complete, clear the fault codes from the DCU and run the machine to verify the system is dosing correctly without triggering the P2047 code.
