Case IH 18258 (518422.03, 518422.04) - ACML – ACML (Armrest Control Module): Throttle1 Position ACML - error state

The measured voltage from the throttle 1 position sensor is outside the normal operating range (typically below normal), preventing the controller from validating the throttle position signal.

   Mechanical Inspection: Check if the mechanical travel adjustment of the throttle position sensor is correct and ensure the sensor is not loose.

   Wiring and Connector Inspection: Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position. Inspect the electrical connectors and wiring associated with the throttle position sensor for damage, abrasion, corrosion, or incorrect attachment.

   Pull Test: Perform a 45 N (10 lb) pull test on each of the wires in the harness connected to the throttle position sensor to check for loose pins.

   Voltage Check: Verify that the fuel throttle position sensor power supply is correct (typically a +5 Volt supply).

   Turn off keyswitch

   Turn the tractor's keyswitch to the OFF position.

   Access sensor

   Access the Throttle 1 Position sensor located in the MultiController armrest assembly.

   Inspect pins

   Disconnect the sensor harness and inspect the pins for corrosion or damage.

   Repair wiring

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the affected wires.

   Adjust mechanical linkage

   If the mechanical linkage is loose, tighten and recalibrate the mechanical travel adjustment.

   Replace sensor

   If the wiring and mechanical adjustments are correct but the voltage remains out of range, replace the defective Throttle Position Sensor.

   Replace ACML

   In rare cases where the sensor and wiring are intact, the ACML control unit itself may be defective and require replacement.
