Case IH 18265 (518431.02, 518431.03, 518431.04, 518442.03, 518442.04) - ACML – ACML (Armrest Control Module - Left): MFH Position ACML - error state

The system has detected that the signal from the MFH (Multi-Function Handle) is out of range, implausible, or shorted to a high/low voltage source.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors between the MFH and the ACML for chafing, corrosion, or pushed-out pins

   Verify if there are active codes for the 5V reference voltage being shorted to 0V or 12V (e.g., codes 18061 or 18062), which would indicate a wiring short rather than a failed joystick

   Attempt to recalibrate the MFH via the display monitor or the HH menu

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and disconnect battery power to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the screws securing the right-hand armrest console cover to expose the ACML and the base of the MFH.

   Inspect Connections

   Disconnect the MFH harness from the ACML. Inspect the pins for damage. If wiring damage is found, repair the harness.

   Replace the MFH

   If the wiring is intact and calibration fails, the internal potentiometers/encoders in the MFH have failed. The MFH is typically serviced as a complete assembly. Remove the mounting hardware securing the joystick base and install the new MFH.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the harness to the ACML and reinstall the armrest cover.

   Calibration

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and perform the MFH calibration procedure via the display or HH menu so the ACM learns the new joystick's neutral, maximum forward, and maximum reverse positions.
