Case IH 18303 – ACML: CRPM Increase switch: PB_UserCmd2_Full_06.CRPM_FineTuneUpSw CAN signal from ACML - error state

Issue description

The CAN signal for the Constant RPM (CRPM) increase switch is in an error state as received or processed by the Armrest Control Module (ACML).

Applies to these machines

  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Maxxum Series
  • Puma Series
  • Magnum Series
  • Steiger Series

Check the cause

  1. Verify the physical operation of the Constant RPM rocker switch on the armrest

  2. Check the wiring harness and electrical connections between the CRPM switch and the Armrest Control Module (ACML) for shorts, opens, or crushed wires

  3. Check if the ACML requires a software update to resolve overly sensitive error-detection parameters

Repair steps

  1. Verify switch operation

Test the physical operation of the Constant RPM rocker switch on the armrest to ensure it is not mechanically stuck or damaged.

  2. Inspect wiring and connections

Check the wiring harness and electrical connections between the CRPM switch and the Armrest Control Module (ACML) for shorts, opens, or crushed wires.

  3. Update ACML software

Check if the ACML requires a software update. Some ACML error codes are caused by overly sensitive error-detection parameters that can be resolved by updating the ACML software to relax the fault code parameters.
