Case IH 18311 (518605.02, 518605.07) - ACML – ACML: EHR1 Program / Motor Mode Switch Error State

The control system has detected an invalid signal, switch disagreement, open circuit, or short circuit coming from the switch used to select the operating program or motor mode for the #1 rear hydraulic remote valve.

   Enter the Diagnostic Menu ('H' or 'HJ') on the instrument cluster or AFS display

   Monitor Switch Code d95 in the switch testing screen, which identifies the EHR 1 program / motor mode switch

   Actuate the EHR1 motor mode switch; the display should show the 'd95' code and emit an audible tone indicating the ACM is receiving the signal

   Perform a wiggle test on the wiring harness connecting the switch to the Armrest Control Module if no code is displayed and no tone is heard, to locate intermittent shorts or open circuits

   Check for related ACM communication loss codes (such as 2818 or 2819) to rule out a total module failure

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power to prevent shorting sensitive CAN-bus components.

   Access the Switch Panel

   Disassemble the armrest console / multi-function handle housing to access the rear of the integrated control switch panel.

   Inspect Wiring

   Inspect the specific connector and wiring pigtail for the EHR1 switch. Look for backed-out pins, chafed insulation, or corrosion. Repair any harness damage found during the wiggle test.

   Test/Replace the Switch

   If the wiring is intact but the switch failed the 'd95' diagnostic test, the switch itself (or the integrated switch module, depending on the exact armrest configuration) has failed internally and must be replaced.

   Reassembly & Clearing

   Reassemble the armrest, reconnect the battery, and turn the key on.

   Clear Codes & Verify

   Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the onboard display to clear the 18311 / 518605 fault code. Test the EHR1 valve to ensure the motor mode engages properly without throwing a new error.
