Case IH 18314 (518608.02, 518608.07) - ACML – ACML: EHR4 Program / Motor Mode Switch ACML - error state

The switch or encoder controlling the motor mode/program settings for the 4th rear remote valve is sending an invalid, out-of-range, or conflicting electrical signal (such as a short circuit or open circuit) to the control module.

   Inspect the EHR4 switch, lever, and flow control encoder on the armrest for physical damage, sticking, or debris that might prevent normal operation.

   Remove the armrest control panel cover and inspect the wiring harness connecting the EHR4 switch to the Armrest Control Module (ACML) for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires.

   Use a multimeter to check the voltage and resistance of the EHR4 switch circuit to verify if there is an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to power.

   Verify via the tractor's display that the ACML is correctly configured for the actual number of remote valves installed on the machine, as incorrect configuration can trigger lever position errors.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove the retaining screws securing the armrest control panel / integrated control panel cover.

   Carefully lift the panel to access the internal wiring and the Armrest Control Module (ACML).

   Locate the EHR4 switch/lever assembly and disconnect its electrical connector.

   If the switch/lever or encoder is diagnosed as faulty, remove the mounting screws securing the EHR4 assembly to the armrest housing.

   Install the new EHR lever/switch assembly and secure it with the mounting screws.

   Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks firmly into place.

   Reinstall the armrest control panel and secure it with the screws.

   Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on.

    Clear the fault codes using the tractor's display or a diagnostic tool.

    Perform an EHR lever calibration procedure if required by the specific model's service manual.
