Case IH 18315 (518578.02, 518578.07) - ACML – ACML: Joystick EHR float Switch ACML - error state
Issue description
The fault code indicates an "error state" originating from the EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) float switch located on the joystick/hand controller. The control module is receiving an out-of-range, erratic, or missing signal from this specific switch on the joystick.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAXXUM T4E
- VESTRUM CVX
- Case IH Maxxum Series
- Case IH Puma Series
- Case IH Magnum Series
Check the cause
Verify the EHR control unit and armrest dispenser controls are functioning.
Inspect joystick wiring, specifically circuits 5535, 5536, 5537, 5538 and CAN bus lines (EHR CAN HIGH / EHR CAN LOW).
Check for voltage drops or shorts in the proportional joystick rocker switches and X/Y axis sensors.
Repair steps
Check the Armrest Control Module (ACML)
Verify the EHR control unit and armrest dispenser controls are functioning.
Inspect Joystick Wiring
Check the EHR float switches (Valve #1 through #4) routing through specific circuits (e.g., circuits 5535, 5536, 5537, 5538) and CAN bus communication (EHR CAN HIGH / EHR CAN LOW).
Test the Switch
Check for voltage drops or shorts in the proportional joystick rocker switches and X/Y axis sensors.
Repair/Replace
If the wiring harness and CAN communication lines between the joystick and the ACML are intact, replace the faulty joystick hand controller or the ACML itself.
