Case IH 18319 (4156.02, 4156.13, 518660.07, 520630.07) - ACML – ACML: Mouse Rear Hitch Fast Raise Switch (S116) Error State

The control module is receiving an abnormal, out-of-range, or missing electrical signal from the Mouse Rear Hitch Fast Raise Switch (S116) on the Multi Function Handle, which could be caused by a stuck button, internal switch failure, or a wiring/connector issue.

   Inspect the Rear Hitch Fast Raise Switch (S116) on the Multi Function Handle to see if the button is physically stuck, damaged, or obstructed by debris.

   Locate connector X846 (connecting the Multi Function Handle to the ACML) and inspect for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wires.

   Verify the continuity of the wiring between the S116 switch and the X846 connector on the ACML to rule out an open or short circuit in the armrest harness.

   Preparation

   Turn off the engine and ensure that all pressure is relieved from the hydraulic circuits before beginning work, as you are working with hitch controls.

   Access the Armrest

   Carefully remove the necessary trim panels on the armrest to access the Multi Function Handle (joystick) mounting and wiring.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Disconnect the X846 connector that links the Multi Function Handle to the Armrest Control Unit (GARU).

   Component Replacement

   If the switch itself has failed internally, remove the mounting hardware for the Multi Function Handle and replace the entire handle/joystick assembly (the S116 switch is typically integrated).
