Case IH 18405 – Central Control Unit (CCU): Front Hitch Inching Raise Switch CAN Signal Error

The system is detecting an invalid, missing, or corrupted CAN signal coming from the Integrated Control Panel (ICP) for the Front Hitch Inching Raise Switch.

   Access the diagnostic menu using diagnostic tool 380000843 to enter the 'H Menu' on the dot matrix display

   Monitor the switch state in the CCU controller menu by checking parameter d190 to see if the CCU recognizes the switch being pressed

   Inspect the CAN bus and wiring harness between the front hitch switches, the ICP, and the CCU for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins

   Test the physical inching raise switch for continuity to rule out a mechanical failure before condemning the ICP module

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Repair or Replace Faulty Component

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the CAN lines between the ICP and the CCU. If the switch has failed continuity testing, replace the Front Hitch Raise Switch. If the switch and wiring are intact but the CAN signal is still missing, the ICP may have an internal failure and require replacement.

   Clear Stored Fault Codes

   Reconnect the battery and diagnostic tool. Use the HC menu to erase all stored error codes. Do not use the H8 menu unless you intend to wipe all calibration values and reset the EEPROM back to default.

   Recalibrate

   If the CCU or ICP was replaced, perform a controller calibration using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
