Case IH 18409 – ICP (Integrated Control Panel) / Armrest Controller / VCU: "FSUS_DnSw" CAN signal from ICP - error state

The control module responsible for managing the front suspension is not receiving a valid, readable signal from the ICP regarding the position/state of the Front Suspension Down Switch. This indicates either a failed switch within the ICP panel, a wiring issue on the CAN bus connecting the armrest to the tractor, or a software/module failure.

   Verify Switch Operation: Check if the Suspended Front Axle switch on the ICP illuminates when pressed. During a suspension calibration routine, observe if the corner post display icon for the suspension illuminates to verify if the system can communicate at all.

   Check CAN Bus Connections: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Multicontroller armrest (where the ICP is housed) and the main cab harness for damaged, bent, or dislocated pins.

   Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for other CAN bus communication errors (e.g., loss of communication with the armrest controller) which would indicate a broader harness failure rather than an isolated switch failure.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect battery power before servicing the armrest electronics.

   Access ICP

   Remove the trim panels on the Multicontroller armrest to access the underside of the Integrated Control Panel (ICP).

   Test CAN lines

   Disconnect the ICP wiring harness and test the CAN High and CAN Low lines for proper resistance (typically 60 ohms across the network) to rule out a wiring short or open circuit.

   Replace ICP

   If the wiring is intact and the fault is isolated to the "FSUS_DnSw" state, the internal switch or transceiver within the ICP has failed. The ICP is typically replaced as a single sealed unit.

   Reassemble and restore power

   Install the new ICP, reconnect the harness, and restore battery power.

   Clear codes and calibrate

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the fault codes and perform a front suspension calibration routine to ensure the new switch inputs are recognized by the suspension control valve.
