Case IH 18412 – Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU) or Cab Controller: HTS Auto Switch: 'HTS_AutoPlaySw' CAN signal from ICP - error state

The Controller Area Network (CAN) bus is not receiving a valid signal from the HTS Auto Switch on the ICP. The receiving controller is seeing a missing, corrupted, or out-of-range signal, meaning it cannot determine if the HTS Auto switch is being pressed.

   Enter the tractor's 'H Menu' (Diagnostic Menu) using the instrument cluster or AFS Pro display.

   Navigate to the switch and sensor test functions (often menu H9), which checks the operation of CAN switches.

   Monitor diagnostic channel d80 for the HTS AUTO switch and channel d81 for the HTS Manual switch.

   Press the HTS Auto switch on the ICP. If the state on channel d80 does not change, the tractor is not recognizing the physical button press.

   Verify the Switch State

   Use the d80 diagnostic channel to confirm the switch is unresponsive.

   Check ICP Connections

   Disconnect battery power. Lift the armrest console cover and inspect the main wiring harness connector plugging into the Integrated Control Panel. Look for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture.

   Test the CAN Bus

   Verify the CAN High and CAN Low wiring continuity between the ICP and the main tractor harness.

   Replace the Component

   If the wiring is intact and the d80 channel still shows no response, the internal contacts of the switch have failed or the ICP circuit board is damaged. Replace the HTS switch individually or the entire Integrated Control Panel (ICP) module.
