Case IH 18420 – Armrest Control Module (ICP) / CCM: Rear PTO Brake Switch: 'PTO_BrakeSw' CAN signal from ICP - error state
Issue description
The control network is receiving an invalid, missing, or erroneous signal state from the ICP (Implement Control Panel / Armrest) regarding the position or function of the Rear PTO Brake Switch.

Check the cause
Check the CAN Bus Connection: Inspect the wiring harness between the Armrest ICP and the Central Control Unit (CCM) for chafing, loose pins, or corrosion.
Inspect the Switch: Check the physical Rear PTO Brake Switch on the armrest/fender for mechanical damage or sticking.
Test Circuit Continuity: Verify the PTO Brake Signal circuit and the PTO Supply circuit for open circuits or shorts to ground.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnecting battery power before servicing electronic components.
Remove console cover
Removing the armrest console cover to access the ICP and the Rear PTO Brake Switch.
Replace or repair
Replacing the faulty switch or repairing the damaged CAN harness wire.
Reassemble and clear codes
Reassembling the console and clearing the fault codes via the tractor's diagnostic display.
