Case IH 18432 – Tractor ECU (TECU) or Implement Control Module: PB_UserCmd2_Full_31 CAN message: rolling counter failure

A control module is receiving messages out of sequence, missing frames, or experiencing a communication timeout. This typically indicates a physical connection issue, a high bus load causing dropped messages, or a software mismatch between communicating modules.

   Inspect the ISOBUS breakaway connector at the rear of the tractor and the implement connection for dirt, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

   Check the CAN bus wiring harness between the implement and the tractor's TECU for chafing, shorts to ground, or breaks.

   Verify that both the tractor and the implement have the latest software updates installed to rule out high bus load or software glitches.

   Clear the DTC using a diagnostic scan tool, cycle the ignition, and operate the implement to see if the code returns.
