Issue description
The control unit has detected that the system's electrical voltage has exceeded the maximum allowable threshold. This typically indicates a charging system error (such as an alternator overcharging the system) or an abnormal voltage spike caused by an improper jump-start.

Check the cause
Operator Interview: Ask if the machine was recently jump-started. A jump-start with excessive voltage (e.g., using a 24V system on a 12V tractor) can temporarily trigger this code.
Static Battery Test: With the engine off, use a digital multimeter to check the resting battery voltage. It should be around 12.6V. Use a load tester to ensure the batteries are not internally damaged from overcharging.
Running Voltage Test: Start the engine and measure the voltage at the battery terminals. A healthy 12V charging system should read between 13.5V and 14.5V. If the reading is consistently above 15V, the alternator's internal voltage regulator has failed.
Harness Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness connecting the alternator, batteries, and the DCU for any shorts to a higher voltage source.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Replace the Alternator
If the running voltage test confirmed an overcharging condition, the alternator (which houses the internal voltage regulator) must be replaced. Remove the serpentine drive belt, disconnect the B+, D+, and W output studs on the rear of the alternator, and unbolt the unit from the engine block.
Install New Alternator
Mount the replacement alternator, torque the mounting bolts to OEM spec, reconnect the electrical terminals, and reinstall the drive belt (ensure proper tension).
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the tractor and verify with a multimeter that the charging voltage is now within the normal 13.5V–14.5V range.
Clear Codes
Connect a diagnostic scanner (such as the Case IH Electronic Service Tool / EASY diagnostic tool) to the tractor's diagnostic port. Clear the historical 19003 / P0563 fault codes from the DCU and verify they do not return during operation.
