Case IH 19087 (F-3031-06) – Engine ECU (Electronic Diesel Control - EDC) or Dosing Control Unit (DCU): DEF/AdBlue tank temperature is not within acceptable limits.

The temperature sensor inside the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank is reading a value that is implausible or out of range, which will typically cause the engine to derate power to protect the SCR emissions system.

   Verify that the DEF fluid is not frozen solid or severely degraded (crystallized or broken down from sitting).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector pins at the DEF header (on top of the tank) for damaged wires, loose contacts, debris, or water intrusion.

   If operating in freezing temperatures, verify that the DEF tank heating lines and coolant flow are functioning (a failed heater will leave the tank frozen, causing a valid out-of-limits reading).

   Use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read the live temperature data from the tank. If ambient is 70°F but the sensor reads -40°F or 250°F, the sensor has failed.

   Prep

   Stop the engine, turn off the battery disconnect, and allow the exhaust/emissions system to cool completely.

   Drain

   Drain the DEF tank completely to prevent contamination and spills.

   Disconnect

   Locate the DEF header assembly on the top of the DEF tank. Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness and the DEF fluid lines.

   Remove

   Unbolt the flange securing the DEF header to the tank and pull the entire header assembly out of the tank.

   Replace

   Insert the new DEF header assembly into the tank, ensuring the gasket/seal is properly seated, and bolt it down.

   Reconnect

   Reattach the DEF fluid lines and plug in the electrical harness.

   Refill

   Refill the tank with fresh, clean, API-certified DEF fluid.

   Clear Codes

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the fault codes and run a Urea Dosing System Test (UDST) to verify system pressure and sensor operation.
