Case IH 19089 – Engine Control Module (ECM) or Dosing Control Unit (DCU): Error DEF/AdBlue supply module heater temperature sensor dynamic plausibility

This fault indicates that the temperature readings coming from the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) supply module's internal heater temperature sensor are not plausible. A "dynamic plausibility" error means the sensor's temperature changes during operation do not match the expected physical models or operating conditions. This typically points to a failing temperature sensor, a malfunction in the heater circuit, or a wiring harness issue preventing accurate temperature reporting.

   Check for related codes that might isolate the issue, such as 19088 (supply module heater plausibility), 19090 (cold start plausibility), or 19103/19104 (short circuit to battery/ground on the heater actuator powerstage).

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the DEF supply module. Look for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or chafed wires that could distort the sensor's signal to the ECM.

   Ensure the DEF fluid is not frozen solid or heavily contaminated, which can cause erratic temperature readings during the heater's thawing cycle.

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Ensure the machine is completely powered down before beginning work.

   Locate the DEF supply module.

   The module is usually mounted near the DEF tank.
