Case IH 19095 (F-3363-12) – EEM (Electronic Engine Management) / DCU (Dosing Control Unit): DEF/AdBlue tank temperature sensor plausibility failure

The monitoring system has detected that the temperature value being reported by the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank temperature sensor is implausible (out of expected range or erratic). Because this is an emissions-related fault, the system will log the error, activate the warning lamp, and eventually command an engine power derate.

   Test the resistance of the DEF/AdBlue tank level/temperature sensor using a multimeter to see if it falls within the OEM specified range.

   Inspect the relevant harnesses and connectors leading from the DEF tank header to the EEM/DCU. Look for physical damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires.

   Verify that all connectors are fully installed and locked.

   Flex the involved wiring harnesses while monitoring the sensor data to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts in the wiring.

   Evaluate Diagnostic Results

   If the DEF/AdBlue tank temperature sensor fails the resistance test, the sensor itself is defective and must be replaced. If the sensor passes the resistance test, the issue is likely a loose contact or defective wiring harness. Repair or replace the damaged wiring/connector.

   Replace the Sensor/Header

   On most Case IH machines, the DEF temperature sensor is integrated into the DEF Head Unit (Sender Assembly) located inside the DEF tank. If the sensor is faulty, you will typically need to replace the entire DEF header assembly.

   Clear Codes

   Once the repair is complete, save the error log (if required for warranty/records) and then erase the fault codes from the EEM/DCU using a diagnostic scan tool (such as Jaltest or Case IH EST).

   Emergency Re-start

   If the machine was fully derated and cannot move under its own power, an emergency re-start can be commanded (after the engine is brought to low idle) to provide 30 seconds of operation to move the machine into a repair bay.
