19112

Case IH 19112 – Engine Control Module (ECM) or Vehicle Control Module (VCM) / Dosing Control Unit (DCU): DEF/AdBlue supply module pump motor pressure is too low.

Issue description

The DEF dosing pump is failing to build or maintain the required pressure (4900 to 6200 millibar / 71.1 to 89.9 psi) to inject fluid into the exhaust stream.

Applies to these machines

  • Tier 4b
  • Steiger 350
  • Steiger 400
  • Steiger 450
  • Steiger 500
  • Steiger 550
  • Steiger 600

  • Axial-Flow 9230
  • Axial-Flow 9240
  • Patriot 4430
  • Titan series

Check the cause

  1. Check the DEF tank vent hose for a plugged vent (which creates a vacuum) or a missing inline filter (which allows dust ingestion).

  2. Inspect the main cartridge filter inside the DEF supply module and the small inline filter located in the inlet fitting for clogs.

  3. Check DEF fluid level and quality to ensure it is adequate, not frozen, and not crystallized or contaminated.

  4. Inspect all DEF lines for external leaks or areas where air might be entering the system.

  5. Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to perform a Urea Dosing System Test (UDST) to monitor live pressure.

Repair steps

  1. Clean/Replace Filters

Remove and replace the main DEF module filter and clean the small inlet filter.

  2. Address Contamination

If you find heavy dust or debris in the filters, drain and flush the entire DEF tank. Install a new inline filter on the DEF tank vent hose to prevent future contamination.

  3. Test the System

Clear the codes and run the machine. If the pressure stabilizes at ~70-89 psi, the issue was a restriction.

  4. Replace the Supply Module

If the code returns and pressure drops immediately after startup despite clean filters and lines, the pump has failed internally. Unbolt the DEF supply module, disconnect the wiring harness and fluid lines, and install the replacement unit.

  5. Software Update

After replacing the module, use the EST to clear the codes. Note that installing a new module may require a dealer technician to flash the engine with updated software specific to the machine's serial number.
