Case IH 19126 (F-5246-15) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU) or Dosing Control Unit (DCU): SCR Inducement: Warning, triggered by Tampering fault.
Issue description
This is a reductant system inducement code. FMI 15 indicates that a sensor is providing a valid signal, but above expected range. The system detects abnormal conditions in the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) / Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that it interprets as tampering, bypassing, or a critical failure.

Check the cause
Manually check the DEF fluid level and compare it against the sensor readings on the cab display.
Inspect the DEF tank for contamination (e.g., diesel fuel, water, or dirt). Poor quality DEF is a leading cause of sensor failure.
Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors for the DEF quality, temperature, and pressure sensors for corrosion, moisture, or physical damage.
Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to run diagnostics. Confirm data consistency across modules and check for secondary codes (e.g., 19141 for diesel in DEF, or 19142 for temp sensor failure).
Repair steps
Safety and preparation
Turn off the machine, remove the key, and allow the exhaust and SCR system to cool completely.
Address fluid quality
If contamination is found (contamination cause), drain the DEF tank entirely. Flush the tank with distilled water or fresh DEF, and refill with new, high-quality DEF from a sealed container.
Replace DEF Head Unit / Sensor
If diagnostics point to a failed level/quality sensor (sensor failure cause), locate the DEF Head Unit on the DEF tank. Disconnect the electrical harness and DEF lines. Unbolt the unit, extract it from the tank, and install the replacement unit.
Replace DEF Supply Module
If the dosing pump is running excessively or failing to build pressure (pump failure cause), locate the DEF supply module. Disconnect the electrical connector and fluid lines. Unbolt the module from its mounting bracket and install the new pump.
Prime the system
Reconnect all lines and harnesses. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (without starting the engine) to allow the DEF pump to prime the system.
Calibration and code clearing
Connect the Case IH EST. Clear the 19126 (SPN 5246 FMI 15) fault code. Note: If the DEF Supply Module was replaced, it must be programmed/calibrated to the vehicle using the EST. Run an SCR system test to ensure the inducement warning does not return and the machine exits derate mode.
