Case IH 1919-09 - UCM – UCM: Rear pilot head #1 unexpected reset
Issue description
An unexpected reset of an electronic valve head occurs when the module goes offline and then comes back online unexpectedly. This is typically caused by an intermittent power or ground connection to the valve head, a loose or damaged pin in the wiring harness connector, or an internal failure of the pilot head actuator itself.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #1 rear remote valve pilot head for broken wires, chafing, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the harness at the #1 pilot head and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or loose fitment.
Verify that the power supply and fuse connections feeding the rear remote valve block are secure and not experiencing intermittent voltage drops.
After inspecting and securing the connections, perform a full power cycle of the tractor to see if the unexpected reset error clears.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the rear remote valves by cycling the remote levers/paddles in the cab.
Locate the #1 rear remote valve at the rear hydraulic block.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the #1 pilot head actuator.
Remove the mounting bolts securing the electronic pilot head to the mechanical hydraulic valve slice.
Carefully remove the faulty pilot head, ensuring no dirt enters the hydraulic valve body.
Install the new pilot head, ensuring the O-rings/seals are properly seated.
Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.
Reconnect the electrical harness.
Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and use the AFS Pro 1200 display to verify the UCM recognizes the new pilot head.
A hydraulic valve calibration via the display or dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST) may be required.
