Case IH 19260 – Engine Control Module (ECM / Engine ECU): Coolant pressure low failure
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the engine coolant pressure has fallen below the expected specification for an extended period.

Check the cause
Check Coolant Level: Verify that the coolant is filled to the correct level. If the coolant level is too low, air will get into the cooling system, which causes a drop in pressure.
Inspect for Leaks: Visually inspect the radiator, coolant lines, and water pump for any signs of external coolant leaks.
Check for Blockages: Check for and remove any objects blocking the air inlet or outlet openings, and clean out any dirt or debris fouling the radiator passages.
Test the Coolant Pressure Sensor: Check the coolant pressure sensor and its wiring harness. Ensure the wiring is not shorted to ground and that the voltage signal is within the normal operating range. You can test the operation with a known good coolant pressure sensor to see if the current sensor is defective.
Inspect the Water Pump: Check the engine water pump (and auxiliary/aftercooler water pump, if equipped) for damage. Inspect the impeller of the water pump for damage or excessive wear.

Safety First
Allow the engine to cool down completely before removing the coolant pressure cap or opening the coolant drain. Hot coolant under pressure can spray out and cause severe burns.
Resolve Leaks
If any coolant lines or hoses are leaking, replace them and secure the clamps.
Replace the Sensor (If Defective)
If diagnostics point to a failed sensor, drain the coolant below the sensor level. Remove the old sensor, clean the port threads thoroughly, and apply thread sealant to the new sensor to prevent leaks. Thread the new sensor into the coolant port and reconnect the electrical harness.
Replace the Water Pump (If Defective)
If the water pump impeller is damaged or worn, remove the drive belt, unbolt the water pump housing, clean the gasket mating surface, and install a new water pump and gasket.
Refill and Purge
Replenish any lost coolant to the correct level. Secure the pressure cap and purge the coolant system of any trapped air.
Clear and Verify
Clear the fault code from the ECM and run the engine to verify that the coolant pressure returns to normal and the code does not return.
