Case IH 1931-02 - UCM – UCM: High temperature in the actuator of rear pilot head #2
Issue description
High temperature in the actuator of rear pilot head #2
Applies to these machines
4 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum 400 AFS Connect
- Optum AFS Connect
- Steiger AFS Connect
Check the cause
Check the rear pilot head #2 actuator (EHR remote valve actuator) for excessive physical heat.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the UCM and the rear pilot head #2 actuator for shorts, corrosion, or damage that could cause high resistance or false temperature readings.
Ensure the remote valve spool is not mechanically binding, which could cause the actuator to overwork and overheat.
Repair steps
Power down and disconnect battery
Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery to protect the UCM.
Locate actuator
Locate the rear pilot head #2 actuator on the rear remote valve stack.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the electrical harness from the actuator.
Remove faulty actuator
Remove the mounting hardware and detach the overheating/faulty actuator from the valve body.
Install replacement actuator
Install the replacement actuator and reconnect the wiring harness.
Calibrate EHR remote valves
Power on the tractor and use the AFS Pro 1200 monitor to perform a calibration of the EHR remote valves.
Parts you might need
