Case IH 1931-08 - UCM – UCM: Aux Valve 2 Port Flow Command - Abnormal Signal

The control module is receiving an abnormal signal, frequency, or pulse width from the component controlling Auxiliary Valve 2 (which may be internally referred to as a pilot head in some specific hydraulic block configurations).

   Check the wiring harness leading to Auxiliary Valve 2 (or rear pilot head #2) for rubbed-off insulation, which can cause signal interference.

   Inspect the sensor terminals and connectors at the valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

   Use a multimeter or the Case IH EST (Electronic Service Tool) to monitor the frequency/pulse-width signal coming from the Aux Valve 2 command sensor to verify if the signal is dropping out or erratic.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate component

   Locate the Auxiliary Valve 2 control solenoid/sensor on the rear hydraulic remote block.

   Repair wiring

   Repair any damaged wiring in the harness leading to the UCM.

   Replace actuator/sensor

   Replace the valve actuator/sensor if the wiring tests good but the signal remains abnormal.

   Clear code and recalibrate

   Use the Case IH EST diagnostic software to clear the inactive fault code and recalibrate the auxiliary valve.
