Case IH 19384 – Engine Control Module (ECM / ECU): CAN-Receive-Frame MUXINFO (IVECO proprietary message from the body computer)
Issue description
This is a CAN bus communication timeout error. The Engine Control Module (ECM) is expecting a specific proprietary data message ("MUXINFO") broadcasted by the Body Computer (BC) over the CAN bus network. When the ECM fails to receive this message within a predefined timeframe, it logs fault code 19384.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Check for accompanying CAN-Receive-Frame timeout codes to determine if the entire CAN bus network is down or if the issue is isolated to the Body Computer.
Verify Body Computer power by checking its dedicated fuses and ground connections to ensure it is waking up.
Visually inspect the CAN bus wiring harness between the Body Computer and the Engine ECU for chafing, broken wires, or rodent damage.
Disconnect harnesses at the Engine ECU and Body Computer to inspect for moisture, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
With the battery disconnected, measure the resistance across CAN High and CAN Low at the diagnostic port or ECU connector (should read approximately 60 ohms).
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Clean and Reseat Connectors
If moisture or light corrosion was found during diagnostics, clean the pins on both the Engine ECU and the Body Computer with a high-quality electronic contact cleaner. Apply dielectric grease and firmly reseat the connectors.
Repair Harness
If a break or short was found in the CAN High or CAN Low wires between the Body Computer and the Engine ECU, splice and repair the wiring using OEM-approved heat-shrink butt connectors or replace the affected harness section.
Software Update
If the wiring is perfectly intact and the Body Computer is powered, connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). Check if there is a software update available for the Body Computer or Engine ECU that addresses MUXINFO timeout glitches.
Replace Module
If the Body Computer is internally failed and not broadcasting on the CAN bus, replace the Body Computer.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the EST to clear the fault codes. Cycle the key and run the engine to verify the code does not return.
