Case IH 1943-08 - UCM – UCM: Rear pilot head #3 failed to initialize

A failure of a pilot head to initialize typically indicates a loss of CAN Bus communication or an electrical failure at the remote valve pilot head. When a pilot head fails, it can disrupt the entire CAN Bus network, causing other remote valves to go offline.

   Unplug the electrical connector to the specific pilot head (#3) to isolate the faulty valve.

   Check CAN Bus communication: if unplugging the suspect pilot head causes the rest of the remote valves to come back online, the unplugged pilot head has an internal short or failure that is bringing down the CAN Bus network.

   Disconnect harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the failed pilot head.

   Remove valve assembly

   Remove the faulty pilot head valve assembly from the remote valve stack.

   Install new assembly

   Install the new pilot head valve assembly.

   Calibrate valves

   After installation, the new remote valves must be calibrated via the tractor's display/diagnostic system to ensure proper operation.
