Case IH 1943-14 - UCM – UCM: Rear pilot head #3 reporting that the spool valve position sensor is not calibrated

The Universal Control Module is receiving a signal from the #3 rear remote spool valve pilot head indicating that its internal position sensor has lost its calibration parameters or failed to calibrate successfully.

   Verify the calibration status of the rear remote #3 spool valve using the tractor's AFS display or the Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the UCM and the rear pilot head #3 for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins that could interrupt the position sensor signal

   Check for other codes in the 1943-xx family (e.g., 1943-13 for internal controller fault, or 1943-09 for low supply voltage) which might indicate a hardware failure rather than just a calibration loss

   Attempt Recalibration

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or use the in-cab display to navigate to the hydraulic remote valve calibration menu (often found under the 'HK Menu' or 'Valve Calibration' channel).

   Run the Calibration Sequence

   Initiate the calibration for rear remote #3. Ensure the hydraulic oil is at normal operating temperature before performing this step.

   Inspect the Pilot Head

   If the calibration fails or the code immediately returns, physically inspect the rear pilot head #3 on the auxiliary valve stack. Remove the hex socket screws (typically M8 x 40mm) securing the pilot head to the valve body.

   If the internal position sensor has failed, the pilot head assembly must be replaced, as the sensor is typically integrated into the pilot head.
