Case IH 19492 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Fuel quantity Balancing Control correction quantities at limitation for injector in cylinder 5

   Check for related electrical faults using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) for cylinder 5 injector circuit codes (e.g., open load or short circuit, IVDiaCylShCir_5).

   Verify IQA/Trim Codes to ensure the ECU is not missing the adjustment value programming for the injector in cylinder 5.

   Inspect fuel quality for the presence of water in the fuel or fuel-in-oil conditions.

   Perform a cylinder contribution test via the EST and verify engine compression to rule out mechanical failure in cylinder 5 before condemning the injector.

   Preparation

   Disconnect the battery power (never disconnect while the engine is running). Clean the area around the valve cover to prevent debris from entering the engine.

   Disassembly

   Remove the valve cover, rocker arms, fuel inlet tube, and the injector wiring harness.

   Remove High-Pressure Lines

   Disconnect the high-pressure fuel manifolds running to the injector. Crucial OEM Note: Disassembled high-pressure fuel manifolds must not be reused; they must be replaced with new ones during reassembly to prevent leaks and pressure loss.

   Injector Removal

   Remove the injector hold-down screws/clamps and carefully extract the injector from cylinder 5. Ensure the old sealing gasket/washer is removed from the bore.

   Installation

   Install the new Bosch fuel injector with a new sealing gasket.

   Reassembly

   Install the new high-pressure fuel manifold, reconnect the injector wiring support, and reinstall the rocker arms and valve cover.

   Programming

   After installation, you must use the Case IH EST to program the new injector's adjustment value (trim code) into the ECU. Failure to do so will result in 'Missing adjustment value programming' fault codes.
