Case IH 19532 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): Back flow line clogged | P2063 Reagent -dosing valve -short circuit low

Indicates a failure within the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) / SCR emissions system. The system has detected either a physical restriction (the backflow/return line that sends unused DEF back to the tank is clogged) or an electrical fault (a short circuit to ground / low voltage) at the DEF dosing valve (the injector that sprays DEF into the exhaust stream).

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the DEF dosing valve for chafing, melted wires, or corrosion that could cause a short circuit low (short to ground).

   Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the DEF dosing valve to determine if the internal solenoid has shorted out.

   Inspect the DEF backflow (return) line running from the dosing module back to the DEF tank for kinks, pinched areas, or severe bends.

   Disconnect the backflow line and check for crystallized DEF (urea) buildup blocking the passage.

   Check the DEF tank vent and inline filter, as a clogged filter or blocked vent can prevent proper fluid return and trigger backflow faults.

   Safety First

   Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Clear Blockages

   If the backflow line is clogged with crystallized DEF, remove the line and flush it thoroughly with warm distilled water. If the line is damaged, kinked, or permanently restricted, it must be replaced.

   Replace the Dosing Valve

   Disconnect the electrical connector and the DEF supply/return lines from the dosing valve. Remove the mounting bolts/clamps securing the dosing valve to the exhaust stream. Install the new DEF dosing valve and torque the mounting hardware to OEM specifications. Reattach the DEF lines and plug in the electrical connector.

   Filter Maintenance

   Replace the DEF inline filter and clean the tank screen when servicing the dosing system to prevent immediate re-clogging.

   System Prime and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or a compatible scanner to clear the DCU fault codes. Run a DEF system prime/dosing test to ensure there are no leaks and that the system builds and returns pressure correctly.
