Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum AFS Connect series
- Steiger / Quadtrac series (350, 370, 400, 420, 450, 470, 500)

Check the cause
Verify if the fault code is active, which generally points to an internal failure of the #4 pilot head itself requiring replacement.
Repair steps
Relieve hydraulic pressure
Before performing any hydraulic repairs, you MUST relieve all pressure in the hydraulic system before disconnecting any lines or components to prevent severe fluid injection injuries.
Disconnect electrical harness
Disconnect the electrical harness from the #4 rear pilot head.
Remove faulty pilot head
Unbolt and remove the faulty pilot head assembly from the hydraulic remote valve body.
Install replacement pilot head
Install the replacement pilot head assembly.
Verify connections
Before applying pressure to the circuit, verify that all connections are tight and that the components are in good condition.
Calibrate pilot head
After replacement, the new pilot head will likely require calibration via the tractor's control panel or the Case IH EST (Electronic Service Tool) to ensure proper spool travel and communication with the UCM.
