Case IH 1955-19 - UCM – UCM: Rear pilot head #4 reporting communication fault with vehicle controller

The electronic rear remote valve #4 (pilot head) has lost CAN bus data communication with the tractor's main control system.

   Inspect the remote valve block connectors beneath the cab for mud, moisture contamination, and corrosion

   Check the Tractor Data Bus (CAN Bus) high and low wires for chafing, cuts, or corrosion between the UCM and the remote valve

3. 3

   Test for proper voltage at the remote valve #4 connector. If voltages are zero or out of range, inspect the wiring harness or splices

   Gently pull on the TDB high and low wires in the connector cavities to ensure the pins are seated tightly

   Access the Valve Stack

   Safely secure the tractor and access the rear remote valve block from beneath the rear of the cab.

   Isolate Valve #4

   Locate rear remote valve #4 (pilot head #4).

   Clean and Re-seat Connections

   Disconnect the electrical connector to valve #4. Thoroughly clean out any mud, moisture, or corrosion using electrical contact cleaner. Apply dielectric grease and reconnect.

   Clear the Code

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the diagnostic port and clear the 1955-19 fault code.

   Test Operation

   Cycle the ignition and test the remote valve. If the fault code returns immediately, the internal controller on the remote valve has failed.

   Replace the Valve

   Remove the hydraulic lines (relieving pressure first) and unbolt remote valve #4 from the valve stack. Install the replacement remote control valve housing.

7. 7

   Calibrate

   Use the EST to configure and calibrate the newly installed remote valve with the UCM so the tractor recognizes the new component.
