Case IH 19556 – Engine Control Module (ECM): Updating DIUMPR - OBD requirement

This is an informational or status code indicating that the system is updating the emissions tracking data (Denominator In-Use Monitor Performance Ratio) to comply with Tier 4B / Stage IV environmental regulations.

   Scan for other active emissions-related fault codes (e.g., NOx sensor plausibility, DEF pressure, or EGR faults) using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Verify the current software calibration version of the Engine Control Module (ECM) using the EST

   Check monitor status, as other present codes may be preventing the DIUMPR monitors from completing their cycles

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Hook up the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's 9-pin diagnostic connector.

   Address Accompanying Faults

   If there are other active codes related to the SCR/DEF system or NOx sensors, diagnose and repair those underlying issues first. The 19556 code often appears alongside them as the system tries to update its monitor ratios.

   Update ECM Software

   If 19556 is the only code present, check the CNH eTIM (Electronic Technical Information Manual) system for any software updates or service bulletins related to the ECM. Flash the ECM with the latest software calibration to resolve erroneous OBD reporting.

   Clear the fault codes using the EST.

   Perform a key cycle, start the engine, and allow it to reach operating temperature to ensure the code does not return as an active warning.
