Issue description
The DCU is receiving the ET1 data frame over the SAE J1939 CAN bus, but the water temperature value reported is out of the acceptable or plausible range, indicating a communication or sensor data error.

Check the cause
Mechanically verify the actual engine coolant temperature to rule out a genuine overheating or freezing condition.
Inspect the engine coolant/water temperature sensor and its pigtail connector for physical damage, corrosion, or backed-out pins.
Test SAE J1939 CAN bus communication between the Engine ECU and the DCU, checking for chafed wires, proper terminating resistance (60 ohms across CAN High and CAN Low), and correct voltage levels.
Scan for accompanying ET1 or EEC1 CAN frame errors (such as 19604, 19605, or 19606) which would point to a broader wiring harness or ECU failure rather than a single sensor.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read active and stored fault codes. Confirm if 19607 is currently active.
Inspect and Test the Sensor
Locate the engine water temperature sensor. Disconnect it and use a multimeter to test the sensor's resistance against OEM specifications for the current ambient temperature.
Replace Sensor (If Faulty)
If the sensor reads open, shorted, or out of specification, replace the water temperature sensor and clear the codes.
Inspect the Harness (If Sensor is Good)
If the sensor tests good, trace the wiring harness from the sensor to the Engine ECU, and the J1939 CAN lines from the Engine ECU to the DCU. Repair any broken wires, clean ground connections, and secure loose connectors.
Clear and Verify
Clear the fault code from the DCU. Run the engine up to normal operating temperature and monitor the ET1 frame data on the diagnostic tool to ensure the water temperature is broadcasting accurately and the P0600 communication error does not return.
