Case IH 19608: Counter for the Oil pressure in Oil Sump
Issue description
There is no record of a Case IH fault code 19608. It is heavily documented as a part number (Fleetguard FS19608 Fuel/Water Separator filter or Febi Bilstein 19608 oil sump gasket). If displayed on a scanner, it may be a proprietary scanner error, erroneous translation, or misidentified part number.

Check the cause
Verify Oil Levels: Check the engine oil dipstick to ensure the oil level is not above the maximum or below the minimum, which can cause pressure deviations.
Inspect the Oil Sump: Check the lower oil sump for physical deformations. Deformations can block the oil strainer or artificially raise the oil level, leading to engine runaway or pressure faults.
Check Oil Supply Lines: Ensure that oil supply pipes and the oil strainer are not clogged with debris.
Test the Oil Pressure Switch/Sensor: Verify that the oil pressure sensor is operating within normal parameters (e.g., minimum oil pressure maps for low engine speeds are often set around 69 kPa / 10 psi to protect turbochargers).
Repair steps
Drain engine oil
Drain the engine oil from the sump.
Remove bolts
If replacing the sump gasket, remove the timing cover bolts and oil pan bolts.
Clean mating surfaces
Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly.
Fit new gasket
Fit a new oil sump gasket (or timing cover seal).
Reinstall sump
Reinstall the sump and tighten bolts to the OEM specified torque in the correct sequence.
Replace sensor
If replacing the sensor, unscrew the old oil pressure switch and install the new one.
Refill engine oil
Refill the engine with the correct specification oil (e.g., SAE 15W40 API CI-4).
