Case IH 19628 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) module: Boost pressure set point is reached too slow
Issue description
This indicates a performance issue where the engine's actual turbocharger boost pressure is lagging and failing to rise fast enough to meet the target pressure (set point) requested by the engine control system.

Check the cause
Inspect the charge air piping and intercooler for leaks, cracks, or loose clamps.
Check the Boost Pressure Sensor (MAP sensor) for accurate voltage readings and ensure it is not clogged with soot.
Inspect the Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) and its actuator for mechanical binding or failure.
Repair steps
Replace charge air hose
Replace a split charge air hose if leaks, cracks, or loose clamps are found during inspection.
Replace boost pressure sensor
Replace a faulty boost pressure sensor if it is clogged with soot or providing inaccurate voltage readings.
Replace turbocharger
Replace a failed turbocharger if the VGT or its actuator is mechanically binding or has failed.
