Case IH 1967-13 - UCM – UCM: Rear Pilot Head #5 Out of Calibration

The Rear Pilot Head #5 (electronic actuator/controller for the #5 rear remote spool valve) is reporting an out-of-calibration condition regarding its internal spool valve position sensor, meaning the physical position of the spool valve does not match the expected calibrated parameters.

   Ensure the mechanical spool valve is not physically jammed or binding due to debris or hydraulic contamination, which could prevent the sensor from reaching its calibrated positions

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the machine's diagnostic connector (Connector 1 or 2, depending on the specific cab configuration).

   Attempt Recalibration

   Navigate to the UCM module in the EST software and select the calibration procedures for the rear remote valves. Run the automated calibration sequence for Rear Remote #5.

   Clear and Retest

   If the calibration completes successfully, clear the 1967-13 fault code and cycle the #5 remote valve using the cab controls to verify the repair.

   Replace Pilot Head (If Calibration Fails)

   If the EST fails to calibrate the valve (or if the code immediately returns), the internal position sensor inside the pilot head has failed. The sensor is typically integrated into the pilot head actuator and cannot be serviced separately.

   Depressurize the hydraulic system, unbolt the faulty pilot head #5 from the rear remote valve stack, and install the replacement unit.
