Case IH 19722 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): EEPROM / Checksum failures | No corresponding variant number error | Internal Control Module EEPROM Error

This code indicates a memory write error or checksum mismatch within the module's internal memory (EEPROM). Specifically, the NOx neutralization unit/power module is equipped with an internal cycle counter to verify the successful completion of the DEF system's end-run (purge) cycle. The cycle counter data is stored in the EEPROM. This fault is triggered when the module attempts to save data to a protected memory area and fails, or when the stored data size/checksum is invalid.

   Check for tampering: Verify that there have been no unauthorized modifications, aftermarket tuning, or delete kits applied to the NOx neutralization unit or other emissions components.

   Inspect wiring and power supply: Check the wiring harness and connectors to the DCU/DEF Supply Module. Look for poor connections or issues causing sudden voltage drops during the machine's shutdown phase.

   Software reboot/reflash: Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and perform a software reboot or attempt to reflash/update the DCU software to rule out a temporary software glitch.

   Turn off the machine, ensure the key is removed, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the DEF Supply Module / Dosing Control Unit assembly.

   Typically mounted near the DEF tank.

   Thoroughly clean the area around the module to prevent dirt from entering the DEF lines.

   Disconnect the electrical harness connectors from the DCU.

   Disconnect the DEF supply and return hoses from the module.

   Immediately cap all open fittings and plug all disconnected lines to prevent crystallization and contamination.
