Case IH 19763 – Diesel Engine ECU or DCU: Value of the remaining SCR distance within warning stage 2
Issue description
An SCR Inducement warning indicating the emissions system has detected a critical fault (such as an empty DEF tank, poor DEF quality, dosing malfunction, or high DPF soot mass) and entered Warning Stage 2. The ECU tracks the remaining distance or runtime before enforcing a severe performance penalty, such as an engine derate or start denied condition.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- Tier 4b
- Case IH LUXXUM 120
- Case IH FARMALL 95U PRO
Check the cause
Check DEF/Urea level and quality to ensure the tank is not empty and the fluid is not contaminated.
Scan for primary fault codes using a diagnostic tool to identify NOx sensor plausibility issues, dosing control malfunctions, or urea pump pressure errors.
Check DPF soot mass to verify if the Diesel Particulate Filter is overloaded.
Check the DEF tank level sensor to verify that the ECU is receiving a live, plausible reading.
Repair steps
Resolve the Root Cause
Repair the underlying hardware issue. This may involve refilling the DEF tank, draining and replacing contaminated DEF, or replacing a faulty NOx sensor/dosing pump.
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect a compatible CNH/FPT diagnostic scan tool to the machine's diagnostic port.
Reset the DEF Tank Level
Navigate to the live signal data and perform a software reset of the DEF/Urea tank level to register that the system has been serviced.
Perform DPF Reset (If Applicable)
If the soot mass was high, perform a DPF reset or initiate a forced regeneration via the diagnostic tool.
Clear Fault Codes
Clear the active and stored fault codes (including 19763) from the Engine ECU.
Test Drive
Operate the machine to ensure the SCR warning light extinguishes, the system exits Warning Stage 2, and full engine pickup/power is restored.
